There are only 2 SENIOR or U18 Boys fixtures on this weekend – unfortunately for local fans both are away games. 

Highland RFC 1st XV:

We have reached the nitty gritty part of the season where wins are vital as we approach our last 4 games. 

This weekend we travel to Boroughmuir who like us are scrapping for every point they can get.

Boroughmuir have the advantage of playing their last 4 games at home – starting with Highland  and then followed by Jed-Forest, Peebles and Biggar. 

Boroughmuir proved to be stuffy opponents when we met them at Canal Park back on 26th October when Highland ran out 22-18 winners. 

Boroughmuir have been pretty competitive throughout the season, having only lost heavily to Stirling County twice and GHA once. The problem is that whilst being competitive they haven’t ended up being on the right side of the scoreboard, which seems a familiar problem. 

Highland will want to show some of the attack play on display against Biggar last time out, but will look to tighten up defensively as they go searching for what could be a crucial win.

It’s a cliche, but we must take it one game at a time. So we need to get everything right on Saturday before we can look forward to going to Stirling County on the 15th, Dundee Rugby on the 22nd, before we host Peebles on the last day of the league season, 1st March.

Boys U18 Eagles:

The Highland lads are also on the road this weekend – as they visit Stonehaven to play  Mackie RFC U18 Boys. 

The Eagles played Mackie 3 weeks ago at Canal Park and won the game 31-27 in a keenly contested game, and will be looking to do the double over their east coast rivals.
