Highland 1XV & 3XV win, 2XV heartbreaker

Highland RFC 38-12 Dundee Rugby

This tie signalled the start of the 2nd half of the season, with Dundee visiting Canal Park after we went to Mayfield on the opening day.

This game was notable for being the 100th 1st XV appearance for both Stuart Watson and Gordon Gregor. It also promised to be a debut 1st XV appearance for 17 year old prop Lachlan Hodge, following on from his representative games with the Caledonia region.

The Dundee side were perhaps unlucky to go in behind at half time. The last few minutes of the first half were to be spark that set up an improved 2nd half performance.

The Raptors will be annoyed that they couln’t close out this Caledonia North League Div 1 tie against league leaders Aberdeenshire RFC.

Reports suggest that the Raptors were ahead moving into the last quarter of the match. Ultimately they couldn’t halt the ‘Shire comeback that turned a potential 5point win into a 2 point loss.
